Modern Confit Pot - Blue
In English, the word 'confit' means 'to preserve'. Confit pots were introduced in France as a way to preserve seasonal produce and meats to be used later on in traditional dishes.
Often, confit pots would be partially buried underground in cool earth or stored in shaded larders to keep food at a lower temperature. This was all before the introduction of modern-day refrigeration of course, now confit pots are often used as sculptural vases adding a piece of french history and a pop of colour to your space.
